This Crazy Idea

When I created the Earthbound collection last Fall - it opened up something new. New to you, I think but a part of myself I’ve always known. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to create that work, to share it with you and ultimately have it become part of your home and your story.

With the Holiday season fast approaching I had to switch gears quickly and I definitely felt like I was being pulled in one direction while always turning around to take another peak at Earthbound.

I wasn’t finished with this feeling. Not even close.

It occurred to me that I could revisit this feeling, and this type of work, in whatever way that I wanted to. The idea of spending time, a whole lot of time, on one idea sent chills through me.

Over the next year I am going to work on bringing an idea to life through 4 separate collections.

I’ll be documenting this process here on the blog, I hope you come along for the ride.

What to expect:

  • A deeper look into how I choose themes, colors, and mediums for each collection

  • Any failures (which are really just lessons) that happen along the way

  • My inspo bubble aka what are the things that keep me motivated to create or tell me to rest when working on a new collectio

Here’s one more thing I’d really love to happen during this time. I want you to feel comfortable enough to leave comments and chat with me. No question or thought is too small or weird. Actually, the weirder the better.

So this idea. It came to me while driving (like most ideas do) and it boils down to this:

What does it mean for an object, a place or a person to be well loved?
