Making: The Warming Collection

Let’s take a closer look at how The Warming Collection is being brought to life.

Using scanned original watercolors and Photoshop, I am digitally painting using shapes, blurring techniques, and texture. Oh, the texture! The outcome is something ghostly, a low humming of power, an emotion burned into memory.

I’m just realizing that the watercolor blobs above were painted during the first month of COVID-19 quarantine (almost an entire year ago), and in the moment they were helping me make sense of our new normal. Now here they are, becoming entirely new.

I’m going to admit something here since it is my blog and all: It took me entirely too long figuring out how to screen record, speed it up, and post it to share here. But you know what!? I DID IT.

Take a look inside the process
